TOPEKA, Kan. (Jan. 18, 2008) Money, tires, brake products and even a trailer are up for grabs during the 2008 The Tire Rack® SCCA National Solo Season, thanks to a number of generous contingency programs.Bridgestone, Hankook, Hoosier Racing Tire and Kumho Tires all return with programs for the 2008 Tire Rack Solo National Tour. Toyo Tires has also entered the fray with a program to support its new Proxes® R1R? tire. Bridgestone, Kumho and Toyo will each award their supporters with $300 for a class victory, $200 for a runner-up finish and $100 for a third-place finish in eligible classes. Hoosier will award eligible winners in 60 classes with a pair of tires. Second-place finishers will also receive one free tire.Two auto manufacturers have made the commitment to reward their Solo National Tour competitors in 2008. Mazda North American Operations will pay out $200 for a win, $100 for a second-place finish and $50 for a third-place finish to eligible Mazda competitors in all classes. Volkswagen of America, the Official Pace Vehicle of SCCA, is posting $200 for a win and $100 for a runner-up finish in 30 classes.Pace Americans popular Solo National Tour Contingency program, which awards one lucky SCCA competitor with a Pace Pursuit® trailer, returns in 2008. Details will be announced at the upcoming SCCA National Convention.Hoosier and Kumho will also post contingency programs in the 2008 Tire Rack ProSolo National Series. Hoosier will award a pair of tires to winners in 19 classes as well as Index class winners. Runner-up finishers will receive one tire. Challenge winners on Hoosiers will earn a full set of tires, as will year-end class champions and the year-end Hawk Super Challenge Champion. Posting in all classes, Kumho will pay $300 to class winners, with second and third-place drivers receiving $200 and $100, respectively. Event Challenge winners on Kumhos can expect $500, while year-end class winners are entitled to $1000, with additional payouts for second and third place. Year-end Challenge winners on Kumhos will also receive $1000.American Honda, Mazda, Subaru, Toyota/TRD and Volkswagen are all on board for ProSolo programs as well. Mazda, Subaru and Volkswagen each offer $200 to eligible class winners and $500 for a Challenge win at each event. Toyota plans to award $200 for an event class win, but offers $1,000 for a year-end class championship. Mazda also bumps up its year-end purse to $1,000 for a class win and $1,500 for a Challenge win. Volkswagen increases their year-end stakes to $600 for a class win and $1,000 for a Challenge win, while Subaru offers $500 to both year-end class and Challenge winners. Honda drivers can expect $150 for a win in eligible classes and $500 for a Honda Tuner, Super or Ladies Challenge victory. The payout for year-end class and Challenge winners increases to $750. In addition to its contingency program, Honda continues to support the Honda Tuner Challenge, which will award $10,000 in prize money over the course of the season. At each ProSolo event, the best of the best is the winner of the Hawk Performance ProSolo Super Challenge, the winner of which can claim a $100 Hawk Performance product credit. Additionally, any class winner enrolled in the program is eligible for a $100 product credit.Further contingency programs may be added at a later date.To be eligible for any contingency program you must first register.
