Quest for New SCCA Solo Triad Award Begins

TOPEKA, Kan. (April 23, 2009) - Earlier this year, it was announced that the SCCA Tire Rack® Solo National Tour would add an award to the program similar to the Chicago Region Triple Crown® or the SCCA Club Racing Super Sweep. The new honor, dubbed the SCCA Solo Triad Award, will incorporate all three levels of the Tire Rack National Solo program. To win the SCCA Solo Triad, a driver must accomplish three feats in a single class: win either the Eastern or Western States Championship National Tour event, win a Tire Rack Divisional Championship and win at the Tire Rack Solo National Championships. Any driver who can successfully complete all three requirements in the same class will be rewarded with an SCCA Solo Triad trophy, free entry to the following year€™s Tire Rack Solo National Championships, a commemorative Triad Award Winner fleece, entry into a drawing for a lifetime SCCA membership and have their name engraved on the perpetual SCCA Solo Triad Award trophy.Classes must meet a minimum entry size for drivers to qualify; three for Division Championships and the Eastern and Western States Championship, and five for the Tire Rack Solo National Championships. Undersubscribed classes will be merged into an Index class for Triad scoring purposes with credit given to the original class.
