SCCA Solo Tour Continues 2010 This Weekend In Blytheville

TOPEKA, Kan. (October 19, 2010) €“Tire Rack® SCCA Solo National Tour competitors are just a few weeks removed from the 2010 Tire Rack Solo National Championships, but return to action this weekend at the Arkansas Aeroplex for the Tri-State Challenge National Tour at Blytheville. Among those on the entry list are three drivers beginning the defense of the titles that they earned in Lincoln, Neb. in September. Matthew Braun, of Northville, Mich., is the reigning Super Stock class champion and brings his 2007 PowerPlug Lotus Elise all the way to Arkansas for this weekend€™s event. B Stock National Champion Marc Pfannenschmidt, of Louisville, Ky., leads his class in a 2008 God€™s Blessings Honda S2000, while Laura Harbour, of Stamping Ground, Ky., brings her Street Touring Ladies class crown to Arkansas behind the wheel of her 1991 Mazda Miata. The Tri-State Challenge is the last event of the 2010 season, and is run under 2010 rules and 2010 contingency prize eligibility. By rule, however, the event is the first of 2011 in determining eligibility for the 2011 Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Championships. In addition to the recently-named titlists, the event€™s strong field comprises other top finishers from the season€™s largest event. Jonathan Jackson, of Maumelle, Ark., finished third in F Prepared driving a 1973 Perfection Plus Porsche 914. Carter Thompson, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., matched that finish in his Super Street Modified 1993 High Pressure Performance/Koni Mazda RX-7. The C Modified field on the concrete course at Blytheville will feature two of the top three finishers in the National Championship battle. Donald Elzinga, of Waterford, Mich., finished second in his 1984 Reynard FF1600, while Mark Lamm, from Brownsburg, Ind., finished third in his 1973 Dulon MP15.
