TOPEKA, Kan. (September 13, 2011) – Seventeen cars earned contingency money at the Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Championships based purely on appearance, as a panel of judges selected winners for the Black Magic Shine Contingency program. The winning cars were selected based on appearance and “shine” over the four days of the event, with top contenders picked based on category. Cars were observed on the grid and in the paddock throughout the week. Up to three were selected in each Solo category, based on the program requirements. Each category winner received $400, with second place earning $250 and a $100 prize for third place. The top finishers in each category are: Modified: 1. Peter Calhoun, Swift DB1, C Modified; 2. Jeff Kiesel, KFR Turbo Sprite, E Modified, 3. Tommy Saunders, LeGrand Mk18, B Modified. Prepared: 1. Ron Bauer, Mazda MX-5, D Prepared; 2. Chris Dorsey, Toyota Corolla, E Prepared; 3. Toby Larsson, BMW 328is, F Prepared. Stock: 1. Alan Jung, Porsche Cayman S, A Stock; 2. Craig Wilcox, Mini Cooper, D Stock; 3. Mark Daddio, Ford Mustang GT, F Stock. Street Modified: 1. Allan and Rebecca Zacharda, Mini Cooper, Street Modified FWD and SMFL; 2. Lynn Proctor, Dodge Viper, Super Street Modified; 3. Erik Strelnieks, Mazda RX-7, Super Street Modified. Street Prepared: 1. Marcus Meridith, Ford Mustang, E Street Prepared; 2. Ron Williams, Honda Civic, F Street Prepared; 3. Tom Berry, Mitsubishi Evo, B Street Prepared. Street Touring: 1. John Rogers, Mazda MX-5, Street Touring R; 2. Kevin Murphy, Mitsubishi Evo, Street Touring Under; 3. Colin Fielder, Honda S2000, Street Touring R.
