TOPEKA, Kan. (November 17, 2011) – The Sports Car Club of America has released the dates for both the 2012 Tire Rack® SCCA Solo National Tour and the Tire Rack SCCA ProSolo National Series, culminating with the return to the Lincoln (Neb.) Airpark for the Solo National Championship and the ProSolo Finale.

The ProSolo Finale and Tire Rack Solo National Championships will open in Lincoln with the ProSolo Finale, followed by the National Championship event September 4-7.

Last year saw the debut of the “Spring Nationals” in Lincoln, combining both series on Memorial Day weekend. That will continue in 2012, with the Lincoln ProSolo and Central States Championships taking place May 25-28. The format will expand to Blytheville (Ark.) for the Summer Nationals, including the Southern States Championship, June 8-11.

In addition to the shared weekends, the schedule also includes two weekends of back to back events featuring the Pro Solo and the National Tour in the same market. In April, the cones makes their traditional stop in Southern California, with the National Tour visiting Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego for the Southern Pacific Tour, April 27-29, followed by the El Toro Pro Solo in Irvine, Calif., May 4-6, less than 100 miles to the north. Both series will get a chance to visit Packwood, Wash., for the Western States Championship June 29 – July 1, and the Hampton Mills ProSolo, July 6-8.

The Toledo ProSolo, July 27-29, is paired with the Northern States Championship, held this year at the Grissom AeroPlex in Peru, Ind. The two sites are separated by just 150 miles.

The Tire Rack Solo National Tour schedule consists of 11 total events, opening with the Dixie National Tour in Cecil, Ga., March 9-11, for the fifth consecutive season, and the Sun Belt Tour in College Station, Texas, one week later. To earn the prestigious solo Triad Award this season, a driver will need to win one of the four States Championships, a second National Tour, and a National Championship, all in the same class.

Competitors will also get to test their skills during the Northeast National Tour, held at MetLife Stadium in the Meadowlands, N.J., May 18-20, and the Rocky Mountain National Tour at Pikes Peak International Raceway, July 13 – 15.

Per tradition, the Solo Tour season concludes after the National Championship event with the Tri-States Challenge, again in Blytheville, Ark., October 26-28.

The Tire Rack ProSolo Road to Lincoln opens April 13 – 15, with the Maryland ProSolo, at FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland. Round Two will be held at Mineral Wells, Texas, one week later, followed by the El Toro, Lincoln, Blytheville and Packwood locations.

ProSolo returns to McGee Park in Farmington, N.M., for the first time in several years, July 20-22, before the Toledo ProSolo and the Finale in Lincoln, Neb.
