As we’re all eagerly preparing for the 2022 season, we just wanted to take a moment to reintroduce the National Solo program.

The events, hosted by the SCCA National Office in conjunction with the local Regions across the country, are all collectively known as the Tire Rack SCCA National Solo program. If you show up at an SCCA autocross and you see (at least) 2 big white truck/trailer combinations in addition to the Region’s setup that you’re used to, you’ve likely found a Tire Rack SCCA National Solo event. Welcome!

There are three different formats within the Tire Rack SCCA National Solo program: the Tire Rack SCCA National Tour Series, the Tire Rack SCCA ProSolo Series, and the Tire Rack SCCA CAM Challenge.

Tire Rack SCCA National Tour Series

If you’ve been around the National Solo program for a while, this name might sound familiar. After a brief stint as Championship Tours, we’re returning to our roots as the Tire Rack SCCA National Tour Series. This is where you will find “autocross as you know it,” just with the wick turned up a bit. At a National Tour, you’re looking at two days of autocross on two courses. Each driver gets three chances at each course, with your fastest Day 1 time and your fastest Day 2 time being combined into a total time for scoring purposes.

Tire Rack SCCA ProSolo Series

Is getting it done in 3 and having to learn two courses not enough of an adrenaline spike? What if we add a drag tree and launch to the mix? Intrigued? Welcome to the Tire Rack SCCA ProSolo Series! Here you’ll face off directly against your competition at a drag start, complete your course (Right Side or Left Side), and then immediately come back to the line to run the other course. You’ll end up with 6 shots at each course over the weekend, with your fastest time on each side being combined into a total time for scoring. If you’re fast enough or lucky enough, you’ll end up in the Challenges for some head-to-head, single-elimination bracket runs to determine an overall winner for the event.

Bonus: There is a year-long points system for the ProSolo series. Earn points for your class competition finish over the course of the year to secure a spot at the Tire Rack SCCA ProSolo Finale, where you’ll battle it out to claim your spot as a year-end ProSolo Class Champion.

Tire Rack SCCA CAM Challenge

Are you more of a “run what you brung” type? If you’re into American Muscle, check out the CAM classes and the Tire Rack SCCA CAM Challenge! The ruleset fits on two pages and we love to drool over the resulting creations. National Tour and ProSolo events can be designated as CAM Challenge events, as well as having their own stand-alone events. These all lead up to the CAM Invitational in Lincoln, NE, which takes place during the same week as the Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Championship and the Tire Rack SCCA ProSolo Finale in September.

PS: For our “run what you brung” folks of the Import persuasion…check out our XS classes and keep an eye out for the CAM Challenge event in Peru, IN. We want to see what you’ve got too!
