Hoosier Super Tour 2026 Season Dawns Soon Out West

The wait is almost over as the Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA® Super Tour (HST) prepares to launch its 2026 season on The Circuit at Buttonwillow Raceway Park in The Golden State. Excitement is in the air as things get cranking Feb. 21-22, 2026, during the event hosted by SCCA’s always-welcoming California Sports Car Club (Cal Club Region).

Part of the Summit Racing Equipment SCCA Road Racing program, HST’s annual trip to California’s Central Valley begins a nine-venue schedule featuring 18 races that lead to the 63rd SCCA National Championship Runoffs® at Road America in Wisconsin. Throughout the season, drivers also earn points toward Hoosier Super Tour Nationwide Points Championships, which is a key component in achieving Super Sweep glory.

The two-day motorsports event at Buttonwillow Raceway Park, found midway between San Diego and San Francisco, will take place on the pristine Circuit at Buttonwillow – the 2.56-mile, 10-turn course now in place at the sprawling 500-acre facility. It was the course traversed by HST for the first time last year, but this go-round includes better bathrooms and amenities as infrastructure work has been completed.

Drivers and volunteers can register through the link below. Then it’s time to check those Hawk Brakes before loading race cars into their trailers for the trip to the track – and don’t forget the Sunoco race fuel! It’s probably a good idea to make sure Hagerty insurance policies are in order, too, before surfing across California to claim bottles of Mazza Vineyards sparkling wine during victory podium celebrations at Buttonwillow.

Playtime with Top Racers and Friends

HST weekends always bring out talented SCCA road racers, and Buttonwillow’s event is certainly no different. For starters, reigning Spec Racer® Ford Gen3 (SRF3) National Champion Caleb Shrader will be one to watch in a talent-laden field with more than 20 entrants.

“I can’t wait for my season to start and that first green flag to drop,” Shrader said. “Coming off the biggest racing season of my career, winning both the SCCA Runoffs and Hoosier Super Tour Championship, I am very excited to get 2026 underway at Buttonwillow’s Super Tour where SRF3’s field is always super competitive. I am also taking on coaching duties this year, so will be doing double duty as tutor and competitor during many Super Tour weekends.”

Other current HST Nationwide Points Champions will be at Buttonwillow as well. That includes GT-1 ace Michael McAleenan in his powerful Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo, and Super Touring® Lite HST Nationwide Points Champion Nick Leverone, who will be making trouble for others in the Spec Miata field.

We can’t forget about Scotty B. White, the 2025 HST Nationwide Points Champion in the Touring 2 and Touring 3 classes. White is a fierce competitor and staunch supporter of SCCA Road Racing up and down the West Coast, as well as across most of America.

“I’m pretty jazzed,” White said about getting his HST season rolling. “Looks like the Touring 2 class is coming together for Buttonwillow with a few Spec Corvettes in there, and those things are super fast. It’s going to be challenging to get my Mustang out in front of them. We got some new things up our sleeves that are different from last year, and I hope we’ll have a little bit more of a faster car. Of course, the competition always gets faster too.”

Enjoy HST Racing In Person or Online

Race fans are invited to enjoy an in-person experience at The Circuit during HST’s Buttonwillow weekend, especially since spectator entry is free. Those unable to visit Buttonwillow that weekend can still enjoy the action from anywhere on the planet thanks to HST’s free online video broadcast produced by DriversEye Live.

This year’s coverage will include the ability to track the gap between two racers over multiple laps. This function allows viewers to better recognize if a driver is closing in on the competition or losing touch, a feature that will certainly provide a more dynamic experience for fans watching online.

Back this year are announcers Brian Bielanski and Gregg Ginsberg, a duo who will split coverage duties throughout the season. Joining the broadcast this year for every race will be Tom O'Gorman, a pro driver who has now been part of the Runoffs video broadcast team for eight years.

Coverage from Buttonwillow begins with qualifying on Saturday, so be sure to tune in and catch all the excitement through SCCA’s YouTube page. As always, access to live timing and more information about the Buttonwillow Hoosier Super Tour can be found at the event webpage linked below.
