Hello my name is Andrew Jackson, I live in Texas and I will be moving to Pennsylvania in a few months to attend York college of Pennsylvania. I am trying to gain more experience in working on cars and working in the Motorsport scene. Is there anyway that you can help me gain experience during the summer through a racing team or working on a track. I have full respect for you guys for ripping it on tracks and showing the passion of driving. If you could find me a place to start building from ground up during the summer I would be extremely blessed. I am a senior in highschool and I am graduating with both my diploma and degree. I currently work at discount tire as a tire technician but I would like to do more and actually own a car of my own. From there I would like to build my company. Contact me as soon as possible if you are able to give me an opportunity to progress in the field of my dreams.

I'm currently looking into it myself, and have been for a while now. The cost is huge, but they offer tons of scholarships. I'm a mediocre student, who hasnt been accepted yet and I have already been offered 11k per year off.

Hello Andrew! I will never be shocked if you are successful right now. Your passion for learning is admirable. Have a great year, man!

Hey Andrew. I was browsing the forums and I bumped into this one. I think this is a great question for people looking to get into racing and the car industry in general. I was kind of in the same boat, being that I was curious as to how to get more involved in the industry. I live in Chicago so I have the Chicago Auto Show each year and multiple tracks I can visit. Clearly this is only my opinion but from the research it sounds like there are a couple options,

1. Get involved at local tracks. Volunteer when you can. Most events are on the weekends. Flagger / Spotter. Security. Tech Inspection. Photography.

2. York is not at all far from Hershey PA. Hershey hosts multiple events throughout the year. *** Antique Automobile Club of America*** is based out of Hershey PA. They have their own events and I think they even sponsor events.

3. Car shows. York is not that far from New York City. Each year they have their New York City Auto Show. I hear New York City is a decent sized city. :)

4. Car Meets - Cruise Nights. I think this would be a great place to get involved with minimal expense and minimal financial commitment.

5. Bring a camera. Always bring a camera, and a positive attitude. Talk to people. Meet people. You never know who will be that one person that will get you in the door and a future start.

Best of luck in school and your future. -Zoran
