How to: Your SCCA Profile

The new website is well, new, and that means that things aren’t where you have always found them. We know that can be pretty intimidating, so we’re helping out. This is part of a series of blog posts designed to help members find their way on the new

Whether it’s your first time on the site or you’ve been poking around for a few days, it’s a good time to set up your profile. You don’t have to be a SCCA member to set up a profile, but it will change how you do it.

SCCA Members: If you had an account on the old site, you can log in with the email and password from that account. From the SCCA homepage, click on “Log In” in the upper right corner. We know you used your member number to log in on the old website, but with the new features of this website and the ability of non-members to create accounts, this was no longer a good option. Do not create a new account as an existing member. Please send an email to for help logging into your existing account.

New Members: If you are not a member, but are looking to join, you can set up your account as you join. From the SCCA Homepage, click on “Join Now” on the right side of the main menu. Select the membership option that fits your needs and complete the information on the next page. Once your membership application is completed, you also now have an account and can “Log In” with your email and newly created password in the upper right corner of the site.

Non-Members: If you are not a member and are not interested in joining at this time, you can still participate in our SCCA Community by creating an account. From the SCCA homepage, click on “Sign Up” in the upper right corner. Complete the basic information in the window that opens. Once all the information is submitted, an activation code will be sent to your email. You will need to use that activation code to complete account set-up.

Now that you are logged in, you can edit your profile, manage your membership, interact with friends and other members, register for events, view the latest edition of SportsCar, and more. The most necessary task is completing and updating your profile. Once logged in, your name will appear in the upper right corner. When you click on your name, a menu appears. To edit you profile, click on the 5th option: “Edit Profile.” Remember that only elements that are marked with an * are required, but the more you include, the more you will be able to get out of the website. Some information will expedite event registration; some will make it easier to find friends. It is your decision though which optional information to include. The only information that non-friends will see is your name, photo, region of record, and the date your joined SCCA.

All of the links for your account management needs are available in two locations. The first is where you just found the link to edit your profile, under your name at the top of the page. The other is on your Profile Page (accessed from that menu), in the third section under your photo on the left side.
