Hi All,

Thank you again for signing up to be a part of the 2021 Tire Rack SCCA Solo Nationals! This year we are celebrating the 48th running of this major event, and we can’t wait to be back at the Airpark with everyone. This is the first of a weekly Monday bulletin for Solo Nationals competitors containing valuable information you should know. Expect one each Monday from now until Nationals.

Please take a few minutes each week to read through everything and by doing so you will be well prepared to have a week of fun at Solo Nationals! Let’s get started.

  • Price Increase

The registration fee will increase to $325 on August 11. Take a look at the entry list and remind any friends whose names are missing that they need to get registered!

  • Class Changes

Make sure to update your registration as soon as you know of a class change OR if you are not currently registered in the correct class. This ensures that you are in the correct place and you will not have to make a change on site in Lincoln, making your check-in process quicker. Doing so also ensures that the run/work order split between courses and heats is more accurate, which is imperative to event flow.

  • Car/Number/Car Information

Review your car number and/or car information to be sure that the vehicle you are registered in is the vehicle you will be running in Lincoln. This will also ensure that you do not have to make any changes on-site in Lincoln and your on-site check-in process will be quicker.

  • Mailing Address

Just like the past few years, the trophies at Nationals will be handed out without the names on them. The plates will be mailed out after the event to the address that you have listed in your MotorsportReg account. Please login to your account and check that your address is current to ensure there are no delays in getting your engraved plate to put on your trophy. While you're in there, a quick check to make sure your emergency contact is still correct is never a bad idea.

This is the second of a weekly Monday bulletin for Solo Nationals competitors containing valuable information you should know. Expect one each Monday from now until Nationals.

Please take a few minutes each week to read through everything and by doing so you will be well prepared to have a week of fun at Solo Nationals! Let’s get started.

  • Price Increase

The registration fee will increase to $325 on August 11 (that is this Wednesday!). Take a look at the entry list and remind any friends whose names are missing that they need to get registered!

  • ProSolo Finale Registration is Opening

Here is your reminder that ProSolo Finale Registration is opening. Tier 1 opens Wednesday, August 11 at 3:00 PM Central. Tier 2 opens the following Wednesday, August 18, and then finally Tier 3 on Wednesday, August 25. Tier qualification requirements and event information can be found here.

  • Individual Paddock Space Registration is Opening

Registration for Individual Paddock Spaces will open on Thursday, August 12 at 3:00 PM Central. To request a paddock space, you and any co-drivers that you’re claiming MUST be registered for the event before being considered. A specific Paddock Space email will be published ahead of registration. Group Paddocks are being finalized in order to provide accurate availability.

  • Don’t Forget to Register for Contingency

Contingency registration for SCCA’s gold and silver level administered contingency programs are on a separate MSR registration from your Nationals entry and can be found at https://www.motorsportreg.com/events/2021-tire-rack-scca-solo-nationals-contingency-lincoln-airpark-national-063155. National Tour registration DOES NOT include Solo Nationals - you must register separately every year. Competitors must be registered prior to competing, and it is the competitor's responsibility to comply with contingency requirements. Please check the programs on https://www.scca.com/pages/solo-contingency for detailed program requirements, including decal placements. Registration for contingency programs is open until 11:59 pm Monday, September 6. Changes or additions can be made up to that date/time as well.

The following companies are posting bronze level contingency programs for which you must register directly with the sponsoring companies:

  • Hoosier Racing Tire
  • Mazda North American Operations
  • Toyota Racing Development
  • Minor Waivers

If a minor’s membership hard card has “Minor waiver on file” on the back, just show the hard card to the waiver workers. Minors can then receive a Nationals wristband, or they can display their membership (hard) card on their person; either needs to be visible anytime on the Nationals site.

If a minor competitor (driver) and/or worker does not have an annual waiver on file with the SCCA National office noted on the back of the membership (hard) card, then a minor waiver will need to be filled out with the signature of BOTH parents/guardians and the minor witnessed by the adult waiver worker. A wristband can then be issued to the minor. (A waiver with only one parent/guardian signature is not a valid document unless the one parent/guardian legally has sole custody. An affidavit of sole custody can be signed by the parent/guardian and witnessed by the waiver worker.)

  • A minor waiver is not necessary for minors under 12 years of age; they are not permitted to be in active “hot” areas per the 2021 Solo Rules section 1.3.2.O (page 26).
  • A minor waiver is not necessary for minors 12 to 17 years old but they are not permitted in active “hot” areas without a minor waiver completed as stated previously.

More information on waivers can be found at the bottom of the webpage https://www.scca.com/pages/solo-cars-and-rules

Hi All,

Thank you again for signing up to be a part of the 2021 Tire Rack SCCA Solo Nationals! This year we are celebrating the 48th running of this major event, and we can’t wait to be back at the Airpark with everyone. This is the third edition of a weekly Monday bulletin for Solo Nationals competitors containing valuable information you should know. Expect one each Monday from now until Nationals.

Please take a few minutes each week to read through everything and by doing so you will be well prepared to have a week of fun at Solo Nationals! Let’s get started.

  • ProSolo Finale Tier 2 Registration is Opening August 18, Event Registration will Close Briefly

ProSolo Finale Tier 2 Registration is opening Wednesday, August 18 at 3:00 PM Central. Registration will close briefly at 2:45 PM Central for event maintenance and will reopen at 3:00 PM. Any remaining Tier 1 registrants will want to register prior to that 2:45 cutoff time or will have to register along with Tier 2.

Tier 3 will open on Wednesday, August 25 at 3:00 PM Central and there will be that same brief registration closing at 2:45 PM.

Tier qualification requirements and event information can be found here.

  • Individual Paddock Spaces Mostly Assigned

Registration for Individual Paddock Spaces is open until Monday, August 23 at 3:00 PM Central for registered participants. If you registered for a spot, you can now search the Paddock Map for your spot. Paddock Chief Mat is still working to place some of the upper rows but anticipates having the map fully updated this week. To search for your spot, click on the magnifying glass in the upper right corner and type in your name. Your spot will then be highlighted on the map.

  • Minor Waivers – Clarification

*In Nebraska, the age of majority is 19. So any competitor under the age of 19 will need to have a minor waiver completed.*

Any individual under the age of 19 (for Nebraska, regardless of their state of residency) who is competing MUST have a minor waiver. Minors who are not competing (and not in hot/restricted areas) do not need to have a minor waiver. Minors under the age of 12 are not permitted in active “hot” areas per the 2021 Solo Rules, section 1.3.2.0 (page 26), therefore they do not need a minor waiver.

More information on waivers can be found at the bottom of the webpage https://www.scca.com/pages/solo-cars-and-rules

  • Site Etiquette

As we enter the 12th year of running at Lincoln Air Park we want to remind everyone that this is a Solo site just like everyone else has in their Region. We would like everyone to treat LAP just like they would their local site. This means helping keep the site clean, watching speeds, and avoiding areas that are restricted (such as crossing the snow fence). Just like with other sites the eyes of LAP have noticed some instances of horseplay around the site. They have specifically mentioned it to us and to help us keep the site please treat it with respect as you would your own region’s site.

We also would like to give you all a heads up that many racetracks require all drivers of golf carts carry insurance specific to the golf carts. While this isn’t something we want to put in place it is something we, unfortunately, have had to discuss possibly doing. It won’t be required this year but is something we might discuss for the future depending on how carts are treated.

  • Paddock Limitations

1) All conveyance vehicles, to include golf carts, bicycles, trikes, mopeds, motorcycles, scooters, etc. MUST be equipped with at least one front light, and one rear light when operated after dusk, and prior to dawn. Preference would be two front lights and at least one rear light. The rear light should be red and the front light(s) should be white, but as long as the vehicle can be clearly seen during dark hours of operation, a combination is acceptable.

2) Speeds on site, excluding the courses, will be monitored by radar reading and will be a max of 12 mph.

3) Rules of the road shall apply, including paddock lanes, and all other areas inside the Nationals compound. This includes stopping at intersections and proceeding with caution, watching out for pedestrian traffic as well as other conveyances, no horseplay in or on any conveyance vehicle including golf carts and other units listed above. There shall be no ramp jumping, racing, tire warming, or reckless operation of any vehicle inside Nationals gated and fenced area.

4) Tire cleaning shall be confined to the tire cleaning area only. No donuts or other reckless operation of any vehicle inside the compound.

5) Areas outside of Nationals gated area, including approach and entry roads, shall not be used for tire warming, tuning, or anything other than a route to and from the Nationals compound. Posted speed limits should be observed.

6) Quiet time runs from 10 PM till 6 AM. Please consider your neighbors during that time. Loud generators must not operate during quiet hours.

7) Use all trash bins available. There will be two bins marked CARDBOARD ONLY, please use appropriately as this is a local government ordinance. Please DO NOT MOVE the bins unless you are emptying them into the larger dumpsters. If you must move them, please return them to their original locations. The locations of the bins are marked on a map to assist the trash vendor in emptying all bins quickly and efficiently.

8) IMPORTANT REMINDER: If you are paddocked in an asphalt spot, NO HOLES can be made in the surface. Any jack, jack stand, tent pole, etc MUST have a solid flat surface under it. Wood is strongly encouraged to be at least 12"x12".

9) Paddock Marshal (safety) is Phil Osborne. If any issues arise in the paddock, his cell number is 214 288 3922. He will be on-site 24 hours and will respond to calls anytime. In addition, there will be others working/patrolling paddock in a golf cart marked Paddock or Paddock Safety.

  • Victory Circle(s)

The 2018 Victory Circle concept was washed away with the flood in 2019 and grounded in 2020, but we are building it back, bigger and better than before! Immediately after Wednesday and Friday heats, the champions will be crowned in their respective Impounds. All trophy winners will receive their trophies, with the winners taking their spots on the podium. We’re excited to see everyone there!

Hi All,

Thank you again for signing up to be a part of the 2021 Tire Rack SCCA Solo Nationals! This year we are celebrating the 48th running of this major event, and we can’t wait to be back at the Airpark with everyone. This is the fourth edition of a weekly Monday bulletin for Solo Nationals competitors containing valuable information you should know. Expect one each Monday from now until Nationals.

Please take a few minutes each week to read through everything and by doing so you will be well prepared to have a week of fun at Solo Nationals! Let’s get started.

  • ProSolo Finale Tier 3 Registration is Opening August 25, Event Registration will Close Briefly

The ProSolo Finale has reached the event cap and any additional registrations will go on the waitlist. If there are any openings due to cancellations, the top person on the waitlist will be moved in, notified via their MotorsportReg email address, and will have 24 hours to complete their registration. If the registration is not completed within 24 hours of their notification email being sent, they will be placed back on the waitlist and the spot will be offered to the next person on the list.

ProSolo Finale Tier 3 Registration will still open on Wednesday, August 25 at 3:00 PM Central for waitlisting. Registration will close briefly at 2:45 PM Central for event maintenance and will reopen at 3:00 PM.

Tier qualification requirements and event information can be found here.

  • Individual Paddock Registration Closed

Registration for Individual Paddock Spaces has closed. If you have registered for Solo Nationals and are expecting to have a paddock spot (whether in a Group or an Individual spot), please check this map and make sure your name shows up when you search using the toolbar on the top right. If you do not see your name or are having trouble using the app, contact Mat as soon as possible at SoloPaddock@scca.com.

  • Run/Work Order Now Posted!

The Run/Work Order has now been posted to the SCCA event site! You can see it at https://www.scca.com/downloads/58053-2021-solo-nats-run-work/download! A new mobile-friendly link will be up soon, which should be super handy on site!  The Run/Work order is always a complex puzzle with several different things the Worker Chief has to look at. Class size is always a big one as there always seems to be a class that is large enough to require their own heat (looking at you, SSC). Balancing the open class and ladies’ classes, as well as cars competing in multiple classes, is another. Every effort was made to make it so that the vast majority of the open and ladies' classes that had entrants at the time of the run/work being created, will be able to attend the trophies in grid.

  • Rubber Wristbands

We will have the rubber wristbands like we have had for several years now. You will receive your wristband from the waiver station at the gate.

  • Monday Welcome Party and Wednesday Tire Rack Awards Celebration

Make sure to join us on Monday, September 6 at 5:30 pm and Wednesday, September 8 at 6:00 pm at the Tire Rack Event Center for our Welcome Party and Tire Rack Awards Celebration, respectively! Both will be catered events by Lincoln caterers.

We hope to see everyone on Monday at the Welcome Party to kick off another awesome Nationals week with some sliders and beverages. It is always a great time to catch up with friends that you haven’t been able to see in a while and will be even sweeter this year after the extra time apart.

And then Wednesday night at 6:00 pm we will be back at the TREC for the Tire Rack Awards Celebration. Gather with your friends to celebrate the awards winners over some chicken caprese or roast beef and some more beverages!

  • Worker Descriptions

The Chief of Workers has put together a file of descriptions for all worker assignments. Whether you are a seasoned veteran or new to National Solo events we encourage everyone to read over the descriptions. This will not only be useful for Nationals but for future events if you have thoughts of maybe trying something new out at a regular-season National Solo event. Even if you have a good sense of the worker position that you normally fill, we recommend reading over all the descriptions because a refresher is never a bad idea. They can be found at this link - https://www.scca.com/downloads/58050-2021-solo-events-job-descriptions-nationals/download

  • Text Notifications

There will be six groups that you can subscribe to for information at Nationals. The four groups for courses will be for things like letting subscribers know when a heat has started 3rd runs so those working the next heat can start checking in for work, the mid-day course walk, etc. The general group will be for information such as schedule delays, new items on the schedule, etc. The last group will be for any safety and emergency information. To find out how to subscribe to each group follow this link: https://www.scca.com/downloads/58052-2021-tire-rack-scca-solo-nationals-text-notifications/download

  • Last day to register for Solo Nationals Online is August 30

If you have any friends who have not yet registered, let them know that the last day to register is next Monday, August 30.

Hey all!

Happy Friday! I hope that you are doing well today. I’ve got a special edition bulletin for you this evening.

  • COVID-19 Guidelines and Information for Entrants

As many may have seen, Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department has issued a Directed Health Measure that went into effect on August 26, 2021. You can read the full posting from the city here. It requires all individuals ages two and older – regardless of vaccination status – to wear a mask when they are in an indoor space unless six feet of separation from others at all times can be achieved.

Our 2021 National Solo COVID-19 Guidelines and Information for Entrants document, which many of you have seen land in your inbox ahead of Champ Tours and Pros this year, has been updated for Solo Nationals and posted to the SCCA Solo event page. A copy of it can be found here: https://www.scca.com/pages/2021-solo-nationals-covid-19-guidelines-and-information-for-entrants.

Our ask for competitors this week is to please adhere to the mandate as you interact with the Lincoln community and if you find yourself in an indoor area on site. Also, please meet your fellow competitors where they are with regard to mask usage on site. If you interact with someone who is choosing to wear a mask on site, please go ahead and put your mask on as well. We are all coming in from different parts of the country and have to return to any number of circumstances back home.

  • Early Arrival and Trailer Jail – New Location

Due to the Air Force moving next door early arrival and trailer jail have moved from where they were in 2019 to across the street from the site entrance (Gate 41). Map is attached. The property is owned by Duncan Aviation, and we have received permission to use it. It is a smaller lot than 2019, so please park in a manner that will allow us to maximize the space. LAP Security will be closely patrolling the area.

  • Friday, September 3 Gate Opening @ 8:30 am

Early event arrival plans are going to be similar to 2019. Prior to 2017, we had complaints about traffic congestion, particularly early on Friday with people lining up to enter the site right at opening and some security concerns.  In order to alleviate these concerns, and be better neighbors to other tenants, we are continuing with the new rules for early arrival.  Please follow these rules and assist us in maintaining a smooth opening operation this year.

               1) There is no waiting at the gate for it to open on Friday morning.  No exceptions.  Please do not even approach the gate prior to 8:30 am on Friday morning.  You have a reserved parking spot - nobody is going to beat you there.

               2) There is no parking/waiting on any street on the airport property.  Of course, if the gate is open, and you're in line, that's OK, but seriously, forming a line and blocking an entire lane is not acceptable.

               3) If you arrive prior to 8:30 am on Friday, please use the early arrival lot designated on the map attached.

               4) You may see authorized setup people coming and going through the gate prior to 8:30 am on Friday. If you're not one of these people, you're not going to get in the gate. No exceptions. No, not you either. Sorry. Do not try to talk your way in. Seriously, Airport Security is only a phone call away.

               5) If you are blocking a street prior to 8:30 am, you may be asked to move immediately.

               6) Nobody and I mean NOBODY is permitted to enter or exit the site except at Gate 41.  Any transgressions on this rule are a security violation and will be dealt with severely.  We have cameras.  We see all.

It may be the "Top Cone", but we're not trying to be the military tribunal here.  We must, however, continue to keep this situation under control.  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

Mark Walker -
Chief of Site Operations
Lincoln Airpark Liaison

  • Reminder: Online Registration closes Monday, August 30

However, this year they are looking for some additional workers to help out. If you’re willing to work a full session (ex: Monday 8:00 am to 12:00 pm), they will give you a set of four runs in an available hour slot and a t-shirt. Don’t need the Test N Tune session but still want to help out? You can also earn a Nebraska Region event entry credit or a donation to a Partner Organization of your choice. Give Nebraska Region a hand and register here: http://msreg.com/2021-Nats-TnT-Worker. The free runs do not apply to time slots already purchased.

  • Course walk wristbands

If you need approval for course walk accommodations, please email Tracy Lewis before 3:00 pm Central on Thursday, September 2 for pre-approval by a Chief Steward. She can be reached at tlewis@scca.com. Please provide pertinent details so that they can be included in the request to the Steward.
