ELKHART LAKE, Wis. (Oct. 6, 2009) – The first-ever SCCA Beat the Boss run took place on Sept. 25. More than 40 runners took up the challenge to beat SCCA President & CEO Jeff Dahnert in a foot race around the four-mile Road America Circuit.

The winner was indeed from the SCCA National Office, but it wasn’t Dahnert, instead it was Club Racing Technical Coordinator Kevin Yaghoubi. Running in brisk fall temperatures following the last race of the day on Friday, Yaghoubi completed the four-mile run in 24 minutes and 17 seconds. A total of eight runners beat Dahnert to the finish line, including his arch running-rival Erik Skirmants, President of SCCA Enterprises.

Altogether, the 2009 edition of Beat the Boss raised more than $1000 for the SCCA Foundation, whose primary program is Tire Rack® Street Survival. With the success of the 2009 event, a return of the event in 2010 is expected.
