Early Registration Deadline For SCCA Convention - Extended
TOPEKA, Kan. (February 8, 2012) – Sports Car Club of America members planning to attend the SCCA National Convention in Las Vegas, March 1-3, should take advantage of the February 16 early registration deadline - extended a week from the original deadline - to save on the convention fees.
The SCCA has planned two exciting offsite excursions to choose from.
Wheel to wheel competition your addiction? Test your skills against fellow convention attendees at Pole Position Raceway for an evening of karting. Each driver will get a practice session, qualifying session and finally, the main event - for a total of three sessions on-course! Enjoy a mouth-watering BBQ dinner at PPR. Guests will board the shuttle at 6:00 pm and the return shuttle will board at 10:30 pm. Sign up via "Online Registration" link below. The fee for karting is $100.00 per person which includes karting, dinner and roundtrip shuttle.
Do you like to "Ooh and ahhh" over some hot Italian numbers? Come with us for a Guided Tour of the Penske Wynn Ferrari Maserati Showroom at the Wynn Hotel. Guests will board the shuttle at 5:45 pm and tour the museum at 6:30 pm. Then walk around and enjoy dinner out with some friends and get picked up at the Wynn by the shuttle at 10:00 pm to head back to the South Point Hotel. Sign up via "Online Registration" link below - the fee for this excursion is $15.00 per person which includes the tour and roundtrip shuttle.

The SCCA National Convention at the South Point Hotel and Casino begins on Thursday, March 1, with the Club’s annual meeting, convention kickoff, and welcome reception. Friday and Saturday consists of various educational and informative seminars on all aspects of the SCCA, along with an Awards Luncheon each day.
The Convention concludes with Saturday night’s Awards and Hall of Fame Induction Banquet, celebrating the 2012 class featuring legends Charlie Earwood, Jim Hall, Gene Henderson, Dr. Peter Talbot and Bryan Webb.
Registering for the convention prior to the deadline can save a member up to $60 in entry fees.
Those attending the Convention are also invited to stay for Sunday’s inaugural Tire Rack Street Survival Summit. Representatives from the SCCA, BMW Club, Porsche Club and others will offer up an informative session on Street Survival and training for those who plan to host a program, with workshops ranging from marketing your event to communicating effectively with teenagers. The Tire Rack Street Survival Summit is a free program, with registration available at www.streetsurvival.org.
