Final Star Performer Revealed This Weekend in Petit Le Mans Broadcasts


BRASELTON, Ga. (Sept. 29, 2011) -- As part of our new partnership with the American Le Mans Series, one SCCA member is honored in each American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón television broadcast as the “SCCA Star Performer.” The final Star Performer will be revealed on Saturday.

Robert Thorne, Chip Van Vurst, Scott Rettich, Ron Sharp, Jeff Kiesel and Brianne Corn have already been recognized in the Lime Rock, Mosport, Mid-Ohio. Road America, Baltimore and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca broadcasts, respectively, and the seventh, and final, 2011 recipient will be named this weekend, when the ALMS races at the 14th Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta. The Star Performer will be revealed during Saturday’s live broadcast on (beginning at 11:15 a.m. EDT) and Sunday’s tape-delayed presentation on ABC (4 p.m. EDT).
With the SCCA Club Racing National Championship Runoffs® having recently concluded at Road America, there is a good chance that someone with an outstanding performance there will be honored in the broadcast.
