Club Racing Homologation Forms/Process

Section 9.2.2 of the GCR requires homologation for all Formula cars and Sports Racers registered after 1/1/83. The exceptions to this include the SRF, Shelby Can-Am, FE, and SRSCCA, which have their own logbook. The original homologation certificate must be accompanied by the vehicle logbook to each event.

- The homologation fee is $100 per chassis.

- Duplicate certificates are $200 each.

- A special handling fee will be charged for any special attention over and above the normal processing time. Special handling is a twenty-four hour turn around process for previously approved designs only.

- In cases where a mailed certificate will not be received in sufficient time for an event, a two-race letter can be issued. These letters are issued by the National Office and used in lieu of a homologation certificate for a maximum of two events. Two race letters are only offered for previously approved cars and the normal homologation fees apply.

New Designs and chassis 10 years and older

If your chassis is homebuilt, or a new design, you will need to complete a homologation request packet. Additionally, all cars that are ten years or older that have not been homologated, i.e. raced in pro series or other sanctioning body, will need to complete the homologation request packet.

- The homologation request forms can be found by clicking on the link for the class needed. This will open a downloadable PDF that can be printed
- Once completed, the forms should be mailed into the National Office with the applicable fees. The forms will be reviewed and you will be advised of any additional information that may be needed.
- New chassis of non-metallic composite construction shall be proven to meet the relevant FIA specifications/SCCA requirements prior to being submitted for homologation. These requirements can be found by clicking on the links titled FIA composite chassis specs.
- The turn around time for this is typically two weeks.

Mass Produced Chassis – previously approved design

If your chassis is from a manufacturer that has previously submitted the homologation request packet, you will not need to do so, provided the car is not older than 10 years.- To homologate a previously approved design, click on the e-mail homologation request PDF. Complete this PDF and e-mail to rmiles@scca.com.
- Alternatively, you can call Ryan Miles at (800) 770-2055, ext. 338. We will need to know the chassis make, model, and chassis number.

Legends Homologation

Cars that are manufactured by 600 Racing, and comply with the current Legend Car Rules, as published by 600 Racing, may compete in the regional only class Legend Cars (LC). These cars are not eligible for any other Club Racing Category.

-  To apply for homologation of a Legends car, please download the Legends homologation request form, complete the form, and e-mail the form to rmiles@scca.com, or mail to the National Office.
-  Legends homologation requests are typically send back within a week.

Converted Cars

If your car has been homologated but you decide to change classes, your car will need to be re-homologated for that class.

- Please send your original homologation certificate to the National Office along with pictures of the car showing the bodywork, and a description of the changes. We will then review your original forms to verify compliance with the rules for the new class.
- In some cases, you may be required to complete the homologation request forms as outlined in the new design section.
- The charge for a conversion is $50 per chassis.

Dual Homologation

If you would like to be able to switch between two classes with your car, a dual homologation certificate can be issued when appropriate. Please note: as DSR cars are eligible to run in CSR, dual homologation is not required.

- Similar to a converted car, you will need to first send the original homologation certificate to the National Office along with pictures showing both configurations, and a description of the changes. We will then review your original forms to verify compliance with the rules for both classes.
- In some cases, you may be required to complete the homologation request forms as outlined in the new design section.
- The fee for a dual homologation certificate is $100 per class.

Duplicate Certificates

If your homologation certificate is lost, you will need to apply for a replacement.

- To apply for a duplicate certificate, call Kevin Yaghoubi at (800) 770-2055, ext. 338.
- The National Staff will ask for your chassis make, model, and chassis number, as well as any previously known owners of the car.
- Please note that the National Office does not currently have records of logbook numbers, those that are stamped on the roll bar.
- From the information provided, the staff will find the original certificate and issue a duplicate. The typical turn around time for a duplicate request is two weeks.
- The fee for a replacement certificate is $200.
- All SRF, FE, and SRSCCA cars in need of replacement or duplicate logbook need to contact SCCA Enterprises at (303) 693-2111.

Annual Inspection – Logbook Issuance

Once the car has been approved by the National Office, your homologation certificate will be issued. The certificate is sent via U.S. Postal Service first class mail. If overnight mail service is necessary, a special handling fee will be added to the charges. The car is now ready for an annual inspection. You will need to take the car and the original certificate to a Nationally licensed Technical Inspector, who will inspect the car and issue a vehicle logbook. Upon completion of the annual, your car is ready for competition.
