Remember June? Those were the days. We were so young and innocent back then. Not a care in the world – other than we desperately wanted to win one of those four sets of tires being given away thanks to Track Night in America® Driven by Tire Rack and BFGoodrich Tires. Now, deep into July, the winners of those four sets of tires have been announced.
Joseph Noreiko of Tennessee Region, Ryan Scanlon of New England Region, Ruben Merenfeld of Florida Region, and Roberto Luna Santana of New England Region will all be receiving a set of BFGs of their choosing, all thanks to their participation at a Track Night in June.
The winners of the free sets of tires were essentially selected weekly, with the first recipient being Noreiko, who participated in the June 6 Track Night at Nashville Superspeedway. Noreiko is a perpetual weekend member of the Sports Car Club of America™, taking advantage of SCCA’s weekend membership program an impressive 11 times since his first adventure with the Club in May 2023.
Scanlon was the second participant chosen in the random drawing, with his Track Night taking place June 17 at Lime Rock Park. He’s been a weekend member five times in the last two years, joining the SCCA as an annual member this May.
Scanlon didn’t just win a set of tires, he also won confidence. You see, coming into that mid-June Track Night, he’d registered for the Intermediate group, but seeing his experience, Track Night staff reached out to see if he’d like to try Advanced. “I really enjoyed it,” he said of being in the Advanced group, adding, “[I] would not have made the leap out of Intermediate for a long time without that extra push.”
In the June 24 Track Night at the awe-inspiring Daytona International Speedway was Merenfeld who, like Scanlon, decided to become a full SCCA member in May.
“I went [to the event] with my dad Isack, and my brother Sammy, and we had a ton of fun,” Merenfeld said, noting it was Track Night’s “great reputation, friendly communication, and access to an interesting track” that got him out there.
Will Merenfeld enter another Track Night? Oh yes, he enthusiastically says, and he’ll have new high performance BFGoodrich tires on his Porsche Cayman S, too.
The final recipient of the BFG giveaway was Santana, who participated at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park on June 30 – this was his second time participating as a weekend member, and we expect not his last.
Unless you’re Noreiko, Scanlon, Merenfeld, or Santana, you weren’t one of the recipients of a set of free BFGoodrich tires, but that doesn’t mean you can’t also drive on the company’s sweet, sweet rubber at a Track Night. Check out BFG’s tire lineup at bfgoodrichtires.com.
