One configuration in a weekend? That’s how people used to Time Attack back in 2025.
If you’re ready to step into the future, the Tire Rack SCCA® Time Attack Challenge at Thunderhill Raceway Park is made for you. You’re going to want to get there for the May 30-31, 2026, event and – great news – you can lock in your spot now (or soon, depending on when you read this) because registration opens Feb. 25 at 3 p.m. Central Time.
Let’s hit the highlights, just in case you need convincing:
Two days of Time Attack on two configurations at Thunderhill Raceway Park. Saturday puts on the technical and rhythmic West Course, rewarding precision and confidence. Sunday shifts to the East Course, with high-speed corners and ample opportunity to stretch your legs. You got bravery? Then Sunday you’ll shine.
This is a shared event weekend with Global Time Attack. You’re not on track with them, technically, but you’re there with them. You can measure your lap times directly to the pros; you can ask questions in the paddock; you can pick up tricks and tips to make yourself quicker.
Wall-to-wall activity all weekend long. Sure, there’s the Time Attack sessions, but there’s more, like wheel-to-wheel racing and possibly a drifting exhibition. There’s the post-checkered-flag camping and all the fun that goes along with it.
We could keep trying to convince you, but at this point you’ve got the picture.
A Thing or Two
Registration for the Tire Rack SCCA Time Attack Challenge at Thunderhill opens on Feb. 25, 2026, at 3 p.m. Central Time. We recommend registering immediately. Why? Because…
Early Bird pricing for the Time Attack Challenge at Thunderhill runs through March 6, so it’s literally worth $75 to act quickly.
There’s a 55-driver cap for the SCCA Time Attack portion of the weekend. So, basically, what we’re saying is, even if you want to spend the extra $75, you might not have a spot if you wait until March 7.
(If you’re truly just waiting until March 7 to register so you can pay the extra $75, we recommend registering early to get your spot and then handing SCCA’s Manager of Time Trials John Hunter $75 when you arrive – or, even better, keep it in your own pocket.)
