Contrary to its name, the Texas Two Step actually has three steps. It’s a quick step, a quick step, and then a slow step. That’s the dance. The Texas Two Step lottery keeps the inconsistency going by asking players to select four numbers plus a bonus number. That lottery is drawn four times a week with seven ways to win. In fact, it seems like the only true “two step” in Texas belongs to the SCCA®.
The first of SCCA’s National autocross Texas Two Step was the Tire Rack SCCA South Texas ProSolo® that happened in early March. The second step is about to occur, with this part of the autocross dance sliding into action on April 12-14, 2024, at the exact same location as the South Texas ProSolo.
The Tire Rack SCCA South Texas Solo® National Tour will swing into action on April 12 at Naval Air Station Chase Field in Beeville, TX, with the action happening all weekend long. But to be a part of it, you need to register. For that, online registration closes on April 9, 2024, at 3 p.m. CT. You can register on site if you wish, but the registration fee will have risen from $145 to $175 at the gate.
Don’t know how a National-level autocross dance goes? The Starting Line Driver’s Edge school will take place on site on Friday, April 12, for the Texas-sized price of free! SCCA’s payment comes in the form of seeing your confidence level go through the roof as you begin your National-level motorsports journey.
Looking to dial in your moves? For that, there’s the Evo Advantage Driving School, where experienced autocrossers will help you get the most of your weekend right before the competition weekend begins. The Evo school isn’t free, but it is worth every penny of the $125.
