It’s time to celebrate March anniversaries for longtime members of the Sports Car Club of America®. Regardless of their level of participation, their dedication to the Club shines through their 25-plus years of membership.
This month, the two members with the longest membership run share the same first name: James. James M. Murray Jr. of Rio Grande Region and James A. Woods of New England Region both chose March 1954 to join the SCCA. Celebrating 65 years of membership this month is Ohio Valley Region’s Paul Tschampel and Washington DC Region’s Robert H. Houston.
Of the 163 members celebrating 25-, 30-, 35-, 40-, 45-, 50-, 55-, 60-, 65-, or 70-year anniversaries in March, the majority joined 25 years ago, with 40 members beginning their #funwithcars journey in March 1999. The second most popular year to join in March was 1989, with 33 of those enthusiasts remaining Club members to this day.
It’s important to mention that join dates for the 1970s and earlier will note the first of the month rather than the actual day of membership.
