Not counting the ProSolo Finale in late August/early September, the 2024 Tire Rack SCCA® ProSolo® Series is an 11-event smackdown that bucks into action on March 8-10, 2024, in the state where everything’s bigger – and y’all better sign up now before it’s too late.
“Everything is bigger in Texas” is a phrase that captures the heart of The Lone Star State due to its incomprehensively gargantuan size. More than 260,000 square miles constitute the bull-riding, steak-eating, boot-wearing Americana that is Texas – that’s more land than Pennsylvania, Florida, and Georgia COMBINED.
Meanwhile, Beeville, TX, where the 2024 ProSolo Series kicks off, is tiny. The land SCCA uses in town, however, ain’t.
Compared to Houston, Dallas, Ft. Worth, San Antonio, and Austin, Beeville is but a dot on the map. Yet despite having a population barely north of 13,500, Beeville represents Texas as much – if not more – than its city-slicker brethren due to its hometown atmosphere, southern hospitality – and an airport runway that’s itchin’ to be driven on hard by SCCA members.
It can be said that true Texas towns have military ties – and that’s exactly where SCCA ProSolo and Beeville intersect. Naval Air Station Chase Field came about in the early 1940s, with the base closing and reopening several times until its ultimate demise in the early 1990s. Now known as Chase Field Industrial Complex (although not by us), the grounds are home to businesses, storage containers, and unbridled SCCA Autocross events.
On March 8-10, 2024, some 200-plus autocrossers will descend on Beeville, prepped to rip around cones on the north-to-south runway of Naval Air Station Chase Field. Expect high grip from the concrete surface, challenging courses designed by those in the know, and a Texas-size shot of adrenaline.
Everyone knows you don’t mess with Texas – and anyone who’s been left high and dry when an event sells out knows you don’t mess around when it comes to ProSolo registration, either. The entry count for the March 8-10, 2024, Tire Rack SCCA South Texas ProSolo at Naval Air Station Chase Field is already exceeding 70% registration capacity, so act fast.
