2017 Tire Rack Devens Champ Tour: 5toGo

Online Registration  | Entry List

With the New Jersey Pro having run, it’s time to transition towards the Champ Tour format for the northast as attention turns towards the 2017 Devens National Tour.  Moore Airfield is the balanced opposite to Met Life Stadium, providing a smooth runway in stark contrast to the undulating open pavement of the stadium parking lot.  The narrow runway may dictate what kinds of elements will populate the course, and while it primarily hales slaloms galore, a bit of concentration has led to the occasional course of superior design.  The event is always worth the tank of gas for those invading from outside the region, as competition is always fierce.

While New England is home to some dominant Street Prepared and Street Modified participation, the street classes are surging in popularity.  Expect heavy competition in pretty much every street tire class, from AS to STR.  With all of these classes running on street tires, it opens up the option for non-trailered cars to drive up the scenic parkways to make it to the northeast.  Speaking of scenic, the surrounding small towns provide amenities to the competition, with hotels nearby in Devens and small shops for food in Ayer.  Leominster is just a bit further down the road with more shopping and hotels.  It’s also a convenient stop for a short vacation on the way to Boston, Maine, or just a bit out of the way towards Cape Cod.

Right now, registration is open with plenty of space left more contestants. It’s the right time to sign up before you’re left behind!
