#TBT 1970s Go Fund Me

This scene is all too familiar; sometimes the unexpected happens, especially when racing. Nobody plans to need a rebuilding effort. Crashes happen and your choices are to give up or rebuild.

For Catherine “Cat” Kizer, her 1978 Runoffs Championship effort ended in a crumpled disaster in turn 1. The rebuild of ended in a National Championship in 1979, the first Runoffs Championship for a woman. That effort also earned her the President’s Cup. She returned in 1980 to claim the H Production pole and a 3rd place finish.

Some research taught us that the car was sold to a local racer who drove it in 1981 before it took up residence in a garage until 2003 when it was sold to a family team from Michigan who are racing the car locally.
