Skirmants Submits Resignation as SCCA Enterprises President/CEO

Centennial, Colo. (February 19, 2016) – SCCA Enterprises President/CEO Erik Skirmants has tendered his resignation, after more than 10 years in the position, effective February 29th, the Denver-based subsidiary of the Sports Car Club of America announced today.

Skirmants, a life-long SCCA member who joined the company in his current position in June of 2005, has overseen the build and servicing of the Spec Racer Ford and Formula Enterprises machines popular in SCCA Club Racing.

In the news most recently has been the successful change over to the third generation Spec Racer Ford, energizing the community with a quicker, more powerful car while still retaining the characteristics and reliability that have put the formula as a leader in participation year in and year out.

Under Skirmants’ leadership, SCCA Enterprises has strengthened the relationship and partnership with the regional Customer Service Representatives, which provide guidance and sales help throughout the country – as prep shops and often racers, themselves. Through that, the program’s spec engine program has established itself as the best and most fair of its kind in the industry, the core to a true spec class.

Beginning March 1, Skirmants will be heading the EXR Racing Series, based in Las Vegas.

"I am immensely proud of my over ten year tenure at SCCA Enterprises,” Skirmants said. “We have accomplished so many great things; rumor has it pigs will continue to fly overhead indefinitely!  It has all come through the tremendous efforts of our amazing and dedicated team, our great Board of Director members and our cooperation with SCCA Inc.  It has always been a challenge and always very rewarding, which makes it so hard to move on for me now.  However, new opportunities are calling me and only because I know how stable SCCA Enterprises really is now I have chosen to pursue the greatest of these; at EXR Racing Series."

An interim CEO for SCCA Enterprises will be named in the coming days, with a full time succession plan in development.

“We’re thankful for the work that Erik has done over the past 10 years, which has truly strengthened the Club and left SCCA Enterprises in a position of strength moving forward,” SCCA President/CEO Lisa Noble said. “We continue to tout that SCCA members have their hands on all aspects of motorsports, and this move of Erik’s is another example of that. We wish Erik the best in his new endeavors.”
