Majors Finale in Michigan

The SCCA U.S. Majors Tour is making its last stop of the season in Brooklyn, Michigan for the Northern Conference Rounds 11 and 12.

The American Sedan title will be decided at Michigan, however some very bad luck will have to befall Andrew Mcdermid for Scott Sanda to take the class lead. Rich Olsen could mathematically jump ahead of Joe Moser this weekend in the E Production standings. Brian Novak can take home the Formula Atlantic Championship with a pair of wins. In GT-3, several drivers, including point leader Joe Kristensen, will be gunning for a couple victories and a shot at taking all the marbles in the championship; Kristensen’s lead over Michael Cyphert, Ken Nelson, Paul Young, and Robert Warkocki gives him an advantage heading into the finale.

Joel Hipp could jump from third to first in the GT-Lite standings as he is the only driver representing the class on the entry list. The Prototype 2 title will be up for grabs as all three contenders for the championship will be on hand: Anders Graff, Mike Reupert, and Greg Gyann. Kyle Webb could give Justin Hille a run for his money, but would need to win both races to move ahead in the Spec Miata championship standings. The title contenders in Spec Racer Ford Gen3, Scott Rettich and Bobby Sak, will be in Michigan to decide the final class standings. Ian Girvan and Christopher Itterly will settle who gets the Super Touring Under crown this weekend.

The Norther Conference Majors finale runs Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 22-23rd. Live timing and updates will be available at SCCA.com/live.
