Finale Weekend

This weekend features the finales of two SCCA national tours: the Northeastern Conference U.S. Majors Tour at Pittsburgh International Race Complex and Tire Rack SCCA Solo Championship Tour in Wilmington, Ohio.

By Sunday afternoon, 28 Northeastern Conference Majors Champions will be crowned at PittRace. Alex Mayer and JR Osborne will be embroiled in a two-way fight for the top spot in Formula 1000. As the only two drivers in contention, it will come down to on-track performance at Pitt Race. Keith McDonald and Joe Sammut will also have to sort out the Formula Enterprises Championship on the track. The Formula F Championship will also be up for grabs this weekend. It will come down to the finishing positions of both Chris Horan and Kevin Brumbaugh. Chad Gilsinger and Christopher Collins will have a dogfight for the Touring 3 title as only five points separate the two drivers.

There is no accurate way to predict the outcome of racing, but we can promise the weekend will be full of hard racing as the Majors tour takes on PittRace for the first time. The event runs Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 15-16th. Live timing and updates will be available at SCCA.com/live.

The Tire Rack SCCA Solo Championship Tour lands in Wilmington, Ohio this weekend and is the last stop for the series of stand-alone events in 2015. Champ Tour events take the format of the Tire Rack Solo National Championships on the road to the best autocross venues in the country. With 374 drivers entered, this season finale is bound to feature intense competition. The most highly subscribed classes are C Street, E Street, Super Street R, and Street Touring Xtreme all with entry numbers above 20.

The Champ Tour runs Friday through Sunday, Aug. 14-16th. Live timing will be available at SoloLive.SCCA.com.
